Description

Whether you are a casual visitor looking for great coffee and home-made cake, have discovered the imaginative dining menus based on local produce, or have heard that we provide a wide range of choice, we cater for all food preferences or health needs. For example there are always varied Vegan and gluten free options available. We are fast becoming one of Swansea and Gower’s highest rated restaurants (check out our Tripadvisor reviews). We are dog friendly and even quite like most of their owners!

Opening hours are reduced in the winter months, generally 10am until 4.30pm. Summer opening from 9am through till late. Check social media for current opening times

We serve breakfast, with gluten free freshly cooked bread. If you have already had breakfast or have not yet worked up a big appetite, we serve locally roasted coffee as well as a range of teas and, of course, and indulgent hot chocolate complete with marshmallows if that’s your thing.
For refuelling, our cakes are all home-made and most are gluten free and vegan friendly (but we’d challenge you to tell the difference). We are a favourite refuel stop for cyclists as there are plenty of places to secure your wheels whilst you recharge with coffee and cake or flapjack.

The lunch menu has old favourites, but often with a twist - the burger is locally made and served on a home baked sourdough bun. Our home-made fish finger sandwich with lovely golden batter is even gluten free.
For those who prefer a plant-based diet, our Buddha Bowl is brimming with sunshine fuelled goodness and taste, a firm favourite with many of our guests, even our carnivorous ones. Our sandwiches are a real mouthful, popular options include The Bay club sandwich, ploughman’s and the “veggie”. Our large toasties are great winter warmers.

We are gradually increasing our “fine dining” options. Word is getting around that we are one of the best places for a Sunday lunch in South Wales.
Visitors can expect to find a gift shop and ice cream parlour, as well as maps, books and practical souvenirs. However, venture around the side of the building and you will find a large but cosy (you’ll love our new log burner) restaurant with some of the best views in Wales.

Our chefs are Ryan and Dylan. Ryan first came to the restaurant 12 years ago, bringing with him a wide range of experience including diverse world food. Dylan joined us in September 2022, having worked in a range of establishments, including being part of the team that secured a Michelin star in the Beach House at Oxwich Bay. Ryan and Dylan are largely responsible for the core menu as well as putting together the weekly fine dining offerings. We have specials every day to complement our standard menu, all of which is of a particularly high standard.

The People you do see….
Our team of Andrew our Manager, Megan our Supervisor, Daniel, Wynn, Chloe and the other runners are there to look after you all year around.
The ownership team are two married couples: Sarah and Chris Bickerstaff, and Elizabeth and Jeremy Peak. As you may know, we took on the restaurant from the previous owners (Sue and Paul, who owned the restaurant for 13 years before us and still live in the village). What you may not know is that none of us had run a restaurant before!
Sarah is the only one of us with direct hospitality experience. She was previously on the catering team for the Toyota F1 team - if it’s good enough for Schumacher, it’s good enough for us!
