With funding support from the Bowen Richards Trust, RCC is pleased to host a nature workshop, led by Adam Rowe and colleagues from the South East Wales Biodiversity Records Centre (SEWBReC).

The workshop will be interactive, to provide people with essential skills in identifying, surveying and monitoring local wildlife. It will start at 11am with a classroom session followed after a short lunch break with a guided outdoor field session. Gower National Trust Ranger Alice Fry will also be joining to help us with identification. 

Numbers will be limited to a maximum of 18 to ensure that everyone gets some individual attention from the trainers, has a chance to ask questions and most importantly can see the things we are identifying and how we’re recording them in the outdoor session.

As part of the workshop we will be using our new One Voice Wales Biodiversity Citizen Science Kit.* This provides some basic tools and resources to help identify different types of wild flowers and invertebrates. Adam will also be talking us through using the LERC Wales App for recording wildlife and which links to the Local Environmental Records Centres for use in conservation and planning. Another app to consider is iNaturalist. Further details nearer the time.
